Definition
Garment tracking is the process of assigning a unique ID or barcode (or RFID tag) to every garment or item, allowing the business to track its status, location, and history throughout all operational stages.
Typical Workflow

Tagging:
Each garment (e.g., shirt, uniform, lab coat) gets a barcode or RFID chip with a permanent ID. -
Check-in / Sorting:
The tag is scanned when the garment arrives at the facility, linking it to the customer’s account and order. -
Processing Stages:
The system records each step — cleaning, pressing, quality check — so operators can see where each garment is at any time. -
Assembly & Packaging:
After cleaning, garments are scanned again for assembly (matching multiple items for one customer) before packaging. -
Delivery / Pickup:
The final scan confirms that the correct items are returned to the right customer.

In Cleantie’s Context
Cleantie is designed primarily for retail dry cleaners, laundromats, and pickup/delivery services — not for industrial plants that require item-level garment tracking or auto assembly (where software must integrate with conveyor or RFID systems).
So, if a potential customer needs RFID/barcode tracking for every individual item, they’ll need a specialized industrial laundry system instead.
