Use the following process to import and export your customer list.
If you have a customer list that you want to use in Cleantie, you can enter it into a customer CSV file and then import it into your Cleantie database. You can also use the customer CSV template to build a new customer list.
CSV stands for comma-separated values, a file format (.csv) for spreadsheets. You can use CSV files to import and export price lists and customers. They can be useful in many situations, such as when you are switching to Cleantie from another POS and need to import a list of customer accounts by using a spreadsheet.
When you export a CSV file from your Cleantie admin, it opens as a .csv file in your computer's native text editor. You can also use an alternative text editor, but it's recommended that you use a spreadsheet program like Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel to view and edit your CSV files instead.
Cleantie provides a template file that you can use as a guide to create your own customer list to import into your database. You can download and view our customer CSV template.
To get started, select the Admin option from the Cleantie navigation screen, then select System-> Customer from the left menu. Select ''Upload your customer list''.
Click on ‘Download a sample .csv customer list file’ link. Download the customer_template.csv file. Enter your customer data as per sample data, and save it.
Please note, customer numbers are ignored as they are auto-generated by the system.
Once your customer file is ready, from Import Customers dialog, click Choose file, and then select your customer CSV file. This process might take a few minutes, please don’t close the browser during this operation.
Upon successful completion, the customers whose records you've added to the CSV will appear on the Customers page.
You can also export a CSV file of all your store's customers and their details.
Exported CSV files can be opened in a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel, or Google Sheets, or used to connect with a third-party CRM system.
To get started, Select Admin option from Cleantie navigation screen, Select System -> Customer from the left menu. Select Export Data.
Select the fields you like to export, then click on Export icon.
