Since Auto Assembly process is very different than conventional manual assembly, the following preparation should be done before installing or using any Auto Assembly system.
- Before putting Auto Assembly system in operation, start heat sealing the Tracking Tags on garments few months in advance. This gives you enough time to prepare the garments for Auto Assembly process. Advance tagging saves you time and confusion when auto Assembly system is in operation. By then usually 65-75% of the garments are already pre-tagged. Some customers might decide to use the tracking tags right away, and can’t wait.
- When using Auto Assembly system, you must separate item on invoice; that is multi qty items are not allowed. For example a 2 pc Suit has to be scanned as Suit Pants, and Suit Jacket.
- Limit the max number of garments per order. Or you may use iAssemble Auto Splitting option for large orders.
- Put aside the 1st few 100s of tracking tags to be used as Temporary Tags. Temporary tags are heat sealed to a fabric 1st, then pinned to the garments that are delicate or might get damaged by heat seal machine. TMS has to be setup to allow temp tags. Temp Tags are released as soon as order is assembled and could be reused for another customer. Or you may order Special Temporary Tracking Tags that are printed on larger labels and could be pinned to the garments.
- Always have enough Tracking Tags in stock.
- Always heat seal the tags on the same location on garment for faster lookup.
- Tracking Tags withstand any cleaning process and last forever.
- If you are hosting your own server for multi stores have proper server consider CSI Hosting services that give you peace of mind from the complexities of managing and maintaining your computers and data. To ensure the complete integrity of our hosted database, we've placed our servers in a secure hosting facility and Network Operations Center using the latest, most advanced construction techniques electronic authentication and access control system assures physical security, and a state-of-the-art video surveillance system, staffed 24/7/365 and digitally archived, monitors the center continuously.
- When using Auto Assembly, it is recommended to issue quick ticket during checkin process. Tag the garments that are missing tracking tags in your tagging station, then update the quick ticket and scan/assign each missing tracking tags. However if your customers are not used to quick ticket you may use Postpone Tracking Tag option in TMS. Issue ticket as before, and then use Ready -> Tags function to scan/assign each garment to the invoice. For additional information on Postpone tagging feature see TMS section.
- iAssemble supports Auto Splitting of large orders. You may set iAssemble to split tickets when max allowed garments are assembled, and split the remaining garments into a new ticket. Using this option saves you time during marking process and allows you to put as many items on one ticket. Let iAssemble split the ticket base on 1st come, 1st serve process. In addition you may mix dry cleaning and laundry into one ticket and let iAssemble split dry cleaning and laundry items into separate tickets.
- During the transition process from Manual Tagging to Garment Tracking, you may do double tagging to allow your staff to get use to the process and use paper tags for backup purpose. New TMS allows double tagging option.
-
If you are using rails for assembly, and need hook# verification barcode printed, go to TMS -> reports -> conveyor labels. Or download the Rack Labels from the link below:
- CSI recommends Pre-printed tracking tags that are .6875” x .25”. However if you wish to have customers name printed on the tag with garment description, order Thermo Patch Blank tags.
-
TMS prints tracking tags on demand using Thermo Patch tags on Zebra Printer. For additional information, please visit CSI website -> products -> tracking tags.
-
When ordering Pre-printed Tracking tags, request your Company Initial to be printed on Human Readable part for visual verification purpose in case the garment is already tagged by another drycleaner.
