SMS notification enhances customer loyalty. SMS notification is a great way to engage and build loyal customers. Sending real-time SMS notifications to customers about their orders not only delivers a superior customer experience but also helps your business to reduce inbound queries.
TMS also supports email notification. However, Emails typically have a lower open rate than SMS and are mostly marked as junk mail.
TMS is designed to work with CSI SMS Service using Email Interface and BulkSMS service using HTTP Interface. BulkSMS is a leading SMS messaging service provider.

If you like to use CSI unlimited SMS service, please contact CSI help desk. Please note CSI SMS service works only in North America. For other regions, please use BulkSMS.
If you wish to use SMS service in other regions through BulkSMS, follow the steps below to create your own BulkSMS account and use HTTP Interface to send Text Messages to your customers when the order is ready.
- Logon to BulkSMS https://www.bulksms.com/
- Select your country from the top left, and select Sign up.
- Create an account by going through the process, and make note of your account credentials.
- Try to send a test text message to your own number. https://www.bulksms.com/test/
- If your test message does not reach you, please report it here.
- Go to Buy credits and Purchase the BulkSMS bundle that is best for your operation.
- Now you are ready to setup TMS to send SMS using your BulkSMS account
- Logon to TMS, go to management, Email configuration, SMS
- Select HTTP Interface. Enter your BulkSMS username and password
- For HTTP Address, enter: http://usa.bulksms.com:5567
- For HTTP Path and port, enter: /eapi/submission/send_sms/2/2.0
- For country-code enter your country code (e.g 1)
- For Text Message, Enter +(your country code)[CELLPHONE] and your text message as a sample below.
You may click on the Time, Invoice#, date, or cell phone# placeholders on the top to be added to your text message.
Email Configuration
Please follow the steps below to set up your own email account for sending invoices, reports, and statements to your customers. using your own domain name email is more professional than using a generic email.
Please note, TMS supports only secure email accounts, however, due to increasing issues with Email Spamming also known as junk email, which is unsolicited messages sent in bulk by email, CSI is not able to support your own regular email account. If your email server is a secure email, you must find out the secure port for SSL authentication and configure TMS with the secure port. Most secure emails use port 587.
You may not be able to use public email accounts like Gmail, as they are considered Spam and get blocked. You may use your Microsoft 365 account to send emails as documented below.

Process to setup your own Office 365 account
- Setup an Office 365 account
- Logon to TMS, go to Management, Management, Email configuration
- For SMTP Server enter smtp.office365.com
- For Port enter 587 and enable use SSL (To use SSL, you must use TMS 4.4.5x86 version)
- For your Email Address enter your Office 365 email address
- For user name enter your Office 365 email address
- For the Password enter your Office 365 account password. Please note the password might be overridden if the configuration is changed. Make sure to re-enter the password after every change.
- Setup your message interval time for sending the notification.
- Setup Attempt to send to 3
- Press Save.
Process to setup your Notification Service
- Logon to TMS, go to Management, Management, Email configuration
- Select Email Service
- Select Install option
- Select Start Service. You may get an error saying service not running. Go to Windows services and make sure CSI emailnotification service is running.
- Now you are ready to send email or SMS notifications to your customers as soon as the order is ready.
Process to setup your Customer Profile
- Logon to TMS, go to Checkin, Select Customer, View/update customer
- Make sure the customer's mobile number is assigned using Cell Phone field.
- Go to Marketing
- Enable the option ‘This customer to receive ready Invoice Notification Email ‘ if the customer wishes to get an email
- Enable the option ‘This customer to receive a Text message (SMS) ‘, if the customer wishes to receive SMS
Process to Make Orders Ready
- Logon to TMS, go to Ready Function
- Scan invoice and Conveyor location barcode. Please note conveyor Location is optional and can be disabled by going to management, and system options.
- As soon as the order is ready and Service Time Interval is reached, an Email and/or Text message is sent.
- You may check the log file under the service screen to make sure the email/SMS is going through.
- Conveyor labels can be printed by going to Reports, Labels, and Conveyor Label

Process to test your email settings
- Go to reports, transactions report. Cash summary report. Create the report.
- Click on Email me.
- If your email settings are correct, the report is sent successfully.
- To test the SMS/Email notification service, make a sample invoice and go through the Ready process. Use your own Mobile phone and email to make sure notification is received.
