Setup Scanner on PC
Cleantie supports any barcode scanner on Windows. Setting up your USB scanner is easy and should work straight out of the box. Simply plug the scanner into the USB port on the computer and the scanner will install automatically.
To test the scanner, open Windows notepad and scan a barcode. You should see the barcode data on the screen.
Setup Scanner on iPad
A recommended scanner for the iPad is the Socket Mobile Scanner S700 or S740. Follow the steps below to setup the scanner on your iPad.
Step 1. Press and hold the small power button until the LED turns blue and beeps twice (it will beep low and then high).
Step 2. The Socket barcode scanner is now powered on. For use with the iPad, you'll want to set the scanner to iOS mode. Follow the instructions in the manual to setup IOS mode.
To enable iOS mode, print the following barcode and scan the barcode. The scanner will beep 3 times to confirm the mode change.
Step 3. Go to your iPad and select "Settings". Select the 'Bluetooth' menu to open the Bluetooth settings.
Step 4. Turn Bluetooth on to pair with the device. The iPad will search for available Bluetooth devices to connect with. Once it locates the barcode scanner socket CHS, select the device to connect.
Your scanner should now be all set and ready to go. To test the scanner, open a notepad and scan a barcode. You should see the barcode data on the screen.
Scanner Disconnecting
If both your iPad and Socket Mobile scanner are left unused for long enough, they will enter sleep mode. When the Socket scanner goes into sleep mode, it gets disconnected from the iPad.
For additional information on the Socket Bluetooth Barcode Scanner, refer to the Socket user's manual.
