Cleantie Printer Driver FAQ
After properly installing and using the Cleantie Printer Driver you may now have some questions on how to use it. We placed the driver shortcut onto your desktop for easy access and you can also pin it to your taskbar. The biggest change with Cleantie Printer Driver 2.0 is that the driver window can be closed and the driver will remain running in the background. The Cleantie printer should always be open in the background for invoices to print and if used properly you will not need to do anything else besides leave it running.
How do I know if the Printer Driver is running?
With our newest version, Cleantie Printer Driver 2.0 you can now close the window and it will remain running. With the previous version, you always needed to have the window open or minimized (Call Jessie If still running 1.0). We now check the Printer Driver by opening the notification corner on Windows computers and looking for the Cleantie printer driver icon. Expand the Notification corner in the bottom right corner of your desktop by clicking on the ^ symbol circled in red.
If the icon is blue like it is below then it is running, if grey it is not listening and not working properly. If it is not there it is closed and you can open it from the desktop shortcut. This is how a running printer driver icon should look like.

When you right click on the icon it will have three options. Show logs, settings and exit. Select the show logs and it will reopen the window if it is closed. This window should show authenticated, listening.
Now that we can open and check if the driver is working properly, we should know these Troubleshooting techniques if the invoices are not printing and the register is not opening.
- When we try to open the printer driver it says its already open
To do this we right-click the Cleantie Printer Driver Icon in the notification corner and click Show Logs. If this does not open the driver right-click again and select exit. Then open the driver from your desktop
- The printer driver window is open but it is still not printing.
On the top right of the driver window where it shows your email address click on your email address select sign out and sign back in. Also, make sure it says authenticated and listening at the bottom of the page.
- If we can't get the printer driver open and printing (*Also how we close the Printer Driver)
Right-click the icon in the notification corner and select exit.
Next we can check the Printer Driver settings.
To open the settings, click the file on the top left of the driver window. Check that the correct printers are selected. Also check the station matches the correct printing station by clicking on the Printer driver icon from the top right of the POS.
Follow and repeat these steps to learn how to open and close the Cleantie Printer Driver correctly. This should help you use it correctly and prevent any errors from occurring. Remember, just open the driver and close the window if you’d like and you won't need to do anything else.
Why Printer Driver Settings are not saving ?
If the printer driver setting is not saving, that means the current user does not have admin privileges to save the setting to Windows Registry. Follow the steps below to fix the issue:
1. Set the User Control setting to Never Notify
2. When Running Printer Driver, right-click and select Run as Administrator.
3. Remove any external anti-virus like McAfee, just use the Windows Default Anti-Virus program.
4. Add Cleantie Printer Driver as an exception In Windows Firewall "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cleantie\Cleantie driver\cleantie_driver.exe"
